Doubt yourself
Ask anybody and they'll tell you that you need to have hope and confidence in what you are doing. I'm asking you to rethink your decisions - doubt yourself. A little doubt is good for you to question your own values, goals and ambitions. A lot of doubt is the exciting part - this is when you get to reinvent yourself and your gaols. Sure, instability is scary but trust me, I wouldn't have made the decision to go to unit if I hadn't have doubted myself. Standing on rocky ground means that the journey may just be a little more exciting a lot more rewarding than knowing exactly what to do and never questioning your own sanity and creativity.
Be vulnerable
To pretend you have it all together is to not be human. To pretend to be perfect so other people don't see your flaws is to be not human. To be human is to be vulnerable. And vulnerability is the first step to self-acceptance, the key to self-improvement.
''It's okay not to be okay'' - my therapist always says.
We were made to think, to make mistakes, to be amazing at things, to sometimes not understand others and especially not understand ourselves. But being vulnerable is not the same as being weak. Weak are the ones to hide away and pretend because they are weak enough to think that what others think of them matters more than the true picture. Strength comes in many forms and showing your human side is one of its layers.

Never lose your childhood spirit
As children, we can embrace freedom, innocence and curiosity. The world seems so big - we can't even comprehend it. Little things excite us, but big things make us bounce and we can't sit still. We live our whole lives with the tought our best friends will always be there and the tree we always climb, will never break under our own weight. To put it simply, we used to be adventurous. Many of us lose that sense of adventure as we grow up. Our pirate ships are replaced by piles of homework. Children are very receptive to change, and us adults should do the same. We should be open to adventure and not be afraid to scratch our knees from thinking we can climb that tree. Some trees are too high up in the sky for our fragile limbs to handle, and that's okay. As long as you find the right tree to climb, and have a little fun on the way, you will feel alive.

Only fools get satisfied
As Billy Joel once said, in his 1977 song Vienna, ''don't you know that only fools get satisfied?''
No I'm not saying you shouldn't appreciate all that you have been given or all that you have achieved in your life. One should be grateful but always strive for a little bit more. That little something that will make you want to be a better person - a more kind, honest and true version of yourself, equipped with transparent vulnerability and the wit of a child.
